John Kokolakis
John Kokolakis earned his undergraduate degree from Queens College and his Juris Doctor from Hofstra University School of Law. He is admitted to practice law in all the State Courts of New York, as well as the Federal District Courts of the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York. He is also admitted to the Connecticut bar.
Mr. Kokolakis is a former management auditor and community associate to the City of New York. While conducting performance audits of city agencies and private contractors contracted by the City, he learned to pay attention to detail.
His position as a legislative Aid to a New York Senator allowed him to research, analyze and draft state legislation. He represented the Senator at political functions and in various committees. Further, he responded and addressed concerns from constituents. His attention to detail and his ability to negotiate and offer compromise allowed him to serve those positions well.
Mr. Kokolakis has successfully handled Personal Injury matters on behalf of his clients who have been seriously injured. His success rate comes from his complete investigation of the incident that the negligence stems from and his extensive knowledge of Personal Injury Law. Mr. Kokolakis has recovered in verdicts and settlements millions of dollars on behalf of his clients.
Similarly, he has experience with all forms of real estate transactions and civil litigation matters. His representation includes small business owners, and buyers and sellers of residential and commercial properties, to representing national lending institutions and multimillion dollar corporations.
Further, Mr. Kokolakis has experience in drafting documents and counseling clients in the formation of corporations, corporate and individual ventures and Sole Proprietorships. Mr. Kokolakis vigorously attends continuing legal education seminars and programs each year covering various aspects of the practice in order to maintain his skills and keep up with the latest changes in the law. Mr. Kokolakis has spoken at several public seminars open to all with an interest in immigration law including Seminars sponsored by the Federation of Hellenic Societies, Cretan Association, Omonoia and The State of New York. Eleni Kouletaki
Ms. Kouletaki is a graduate of the University of Athens School of Law, whereby she received her Juris Doctor. In addition to her Juris Doctor, Ms. Kouletaki received her Masters in Criminal Law and Criminology from Athens School of Law, Department of Criminal Studies. Ms. Kouletaki continued her legal education at Pace Law School whereby she received her LL.M in Environmental Law.Ms. Kouletaki is admitted to practice law in all the State Courts of New York, as well as the country Greece.
During her years of practice in both the Athens and New York Courts, emphasis was placed in the areas of Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, European Law and Civil Litigation. Further, prior to transferring to New York, Ms. Kouletaki focused on land use and administrative law and closely worked with the Ministry of the Environment in drafting important environmental and land use regulations.
As a Special Assistant Attorney General at the Environmental Protection Bureau of the New York State Attorney General, Ms. Kouletaki, among other things, litigated complex environmental cases in addition to handling corporate matters, specifically, liability and fiduciary issues with regard to corporate officers.
Since joining Kokolakis & Associates, P.C., Ms. Kouletaki has chosen to focus her practice, in addition to the above, on assisting Greek nationals situated either in New York State or Greece with their legal needs, particularly in the area of Estate Planning, Real Estate, Family Law and Administrative Law.
